Dear Praying Friend,

Greetings from Cork in Jesus’ name.

Thank you for your prayerful remembrance of our work and of us in these days.

The caravan has just had a short break while John took some time out to prepare for the summer activities.  The caravan is rolling again and John has a helper from N.I. – David McCoubrey, who did the Summer Missionary Training Week last year.  He is being kept busy, not just on outreach work but also preparing craft-work for the summer camps.  Praise the Lord for David’s help for these two weeks.

The Summer Missionary Training Week starts in Kilkeel on June 27th.   John will be sharing in the teaching and instruction to be given there, including daily Bible studies. (C.E.F have a simultaneous training Week in the Camp Centre at Rossnowlagh, in Co. Donegal.)  Pray for the young people booked it for these important days – that the Lord will work in our midst and sent forth an eager group of labourers to serve Him throughout Ireland.

The four Good News Camps for Co Cork (July 6th to August 2nd ) have filled up with campers.

URGENT PRAYER REQUESTS!          URGENT PRAYER REQUESTS!

We have just learned that the cook who was planning to be with us for the four weeks is unable to come to our camps this year.  This leaves us sending up urgent prayer to God, and inviting you to join us in prayer, that the Lord will, at such short notice, provide for this need.

A cook or cooks urgently needed to work with us at some or all of the camps.  We hope to nourish over 160 children and young people both physically and spiritually at the camps.

There are still officers needed for some camps:

·         Teens camp (July 6th–12th) - female officers required.

·         Junior B camp (10-11 yr olds) July 20th–25th - short of male and female officers.

·         Inters camp – 12-13 yr olds – female officers needed.

Pray for the Good News Camps – that God will lay these needs on the hearts of suitable people.

John will be helping at all the camps, and will be teaching the Bible lessons at three of them. Joan does a lot of baking of bread and cakes, and lots of shopping during the camps.

Following the camps we hope to take up the outreach work again around the city for three weeks before taking a holiday.  Pray for help during that time.

All these plans are subject to the will of God.  Continue with us in prayer that together as co-workers with God we will see God do great things this summer.

I mentioned the “problem” we had in our Church in my last letter – it is the sort of problem that you would wish more churches had!  The overflow Sunday morning service in a Community School on the south side of the city is working out very well.  Over 40 are attending the service there and we still have a comfortably full Church in the city centre!  Praise the Lord that this development has progressed so smoothly.  Pray for the future development of this church expansion.

We pray that the Lord will guide and bless you in you Christian life and service during these days too, as we eagerly await the blessed hope of our Lord’s return.

Pray that we, and our family, will each walk in truth and righteousness for His name’s sake.

Yours to reach children for Christ,
